On Thursday, September 14th, Hillcrest hosted the annual UK University Fair, welcoming 50 university delegates from across the United Kingdom to our campus.
The day began with presentations given by the delegates on a wide variety of university courses – including Medicine, Art & Design, Business, and Law – as well as application guidance regarding the UCAS and Personal Statement. Hillcrest Secondary School students, as well as those invited from other secondary schools, were free to select and attend the presentation that fit their interests and needs.
After the presentations, the students and delegates returned to the field where the fair commenced. Hillcrest students could be found in nearly every university tent, eagerly and attentively listening to the delegates’ advice and information, and coming away with stacks of brochures in their arms. Our prefects were especially instrumental in helping the delegates feel welcome and the day run smoothly. They guided delegates through campus, attended to their needs, and engaged them during lunch.
Following the fair, one delegate commented, “The event was excellent, thank you and we were all extremely impressed by the organisation and the calibre of your students.”
We are fortunate and honoured to have hosted this fair, as it provided students with an invaluable opportunity to speak directly to university delegates, gaining first-hand information and advice as they prepare their applications. We once again thank the delegates for joining us.
